By Jive is a multidisciplinary design studio specialising in both interiors & branding. Across both disciplines, the studio creates considered spaces and identities that feel distinctive, cohesive and deeply connected to the people behind them.
Based between Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast, By Jive is led by Josephine Ivanoff, whose background in communication design informs her refined and considered approach to interiors.
This multidisciplinary foundation shapes the studio’s work, balancing creative expression with clarity, function and thoughtful detail. The result is work that feels both visually resolved and meaningful, whether expressed through a space or a brand.
Our interior work spans residential and commercial projects, with an emphasis on timelessness, warmth and individuality. Each space is thoughtfully layered to balance beauty with function and respond naturally to the way it will be experienced.

By Jive works closely with Ma-kan Design Studio, led by Josephine’s partner, Steav Nissan, B.Arch, Adv. Dip. Building Design (Arch.).
Ma-kan brings together considered design thinking, creativity and technical expertise across residential, multi-residential, industrial and commercial projects.
For clients requiring both building and interior design, the two studios can collaborate from the earliest stages. This allows the building and interiors to be developed as one cohesive vision.
